The Account Manager plays a business-critical role. A successful candidate must be a great communicator, a strategic thinker, financially minded and deadline driven. The Account Manager is the face of the business to our clients in meetings, telephone calls and digital communications. The role involves being able to work with clients to understand their needs and then translate that to internal subject matter experts to co-craft smart business improvement solutions. This candidate must act with a sense of urgency, be service-minded and able to work across a broad variety of subject matters and personalities.

The Account Manager is responsible for the daily contact between the Agency and Clients. The Candidate will interface with various agency departments to move projects through on behalf of the client. The Account Manager has significant input in developing strategic marketing plans for assigned clients and is responsible for implementing approved strategic plans.

The Account Manager is also responsible for gaining new business opportunities from existing clients. The successful candidate must be motivated by solving problems and growing their client business. Advising clients, when business-appropriate, to engage in new service areas will be an essential function of the job. This position reports to the Director of Client Services, and is a full-time position Monday through Friday, 9 am to 6 pm with the possibility of working extended hours and weekends as needed. Key Functional Areas of Responsibility
  • Will handle the day-to-day activities of all assigned client accounts on a daily basis.
  • Keep track of the progress on projects through production and traffic managers or other relevant personnel on all assigned accounts.
  • Organize and lead client briefings, compose Client Contact Reports for all client meetings and distribute to appropriate client and internal personnel.
  • Must maintain up-to-date understanding of contract scopes, budgets and timelines.
  • Quickly and accurately relay Client Change Orders to all parties.
  • Effectively present, sell and defend our work/proposals to clients; supports other client service team members in these functions, as needed.
  • Maintain current and timely knowledge of client’s brands/products/services/marketing developments.
  • Interest in broader macro-economic drivers that affect client’s businesses.
  • Assist in preparing client invoices, proposals/marketing communications, presentations, strategic marketing plans, and media programs.
  • Manage all client communications, including calls, texts, emails and online discussions, i.e., Skype, Google Hangouts.
  • Coordinate with all internal personnel to ensure clients receive unified, consistent communications and strategies.
  • Oversea execution of approved programs.
  • Check and approve creative/production materials, copy, layouts, production, art, prior to client receipt and coordinate client comments/approval of same.
  • Responsible for completing and presenting client status & performance report to internal leadership team, weekly.
  • Coordinate project timing and budgets with project management and others as needed.
  • Actively seek and identify additional solution-focused projects/new business from clients.
  • Represent our firm in a professional manner at industry and community functions.
Professional Skills & Qualifications
  • Must have 2+ years of experience working in Account Management; Digital Media experienced preferred.
  • Must be have demonstrably excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree required. MBA preferred.
  • Must have excellent computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suites
